Mixing Wired and Wireless

Hi,

I have been looking through the posts and cannot find an answer to my problem (or if I have, it's gone way over my head!).

I have a Linksys BEFSR41 wired router with 4 ports that shares my NTL BB between two PC's and an Apple. I need to now access the BB with a wireless laptop.

Do I need to buy a new router or is there something that I can plug into my existing router to make a wireless access point?

Any help gratefully received!
Thanks,

Michelle

Unfortunately though, those are hardly cheaper than a new router. Seeing that most wireless routers come with a number of cabled ports as well, you may just as well (imo) get a new wireless router, and cut down on the number of devices/sockets required in your room.

Re: Mixing Wired and Wireless

Thanks guys, yes I have checked some prices and there does seem to be very little difference between a new router and an access point.

I may still go with the access point just in case it needs to be placed in a high spot - not sure I could live with all the cables dangling down the wall from the router! Hmmm... I need to ponder further!

Many thanks

Michelle
