Question Actiontec router HELP

Hi, I have the first actiontec wireless router (the cream one).

Can anyone help me, is there a way of making it secure so no one can surf without my knowledge!

Making my router secure has made it so much faster, I am on 2M and always had speed in spec but wow it is fast now.
