Belkin Pre N F5D8230uk4 Problems

Hi all

The other night i was trying to set up some port forwarding for my Bit torrent program and when i click apply some very strange writing came up on the screen. So i shut down the webpage and logged back on to the router and restarted it. When it can back on it didnt have an IP address for the cable modem.

So i went up stairs and check all the connects and everything was ok, so i switched it all off, left the modem of for 30 seconds and did all that but nothing worked. What i did notice though was that the internet light on the router was solid and the cable modem ethernet light was on. But still not IP.

When i connect it st8 to my laptop it works fine, anyone have any ideas or suggestions on why this is happening?

Cheers

not really but there should be a small button on the back you can get to with a paperclip and it will reset it to factory settings again.

Have you set a password on the router?

When I bought my router I didn't and somebody was accessing it fom OZ.

I did a hard reset and set a password, no problems yet.
