Problems with connection

Hello, wondering if anyone else is having the same problem or can offer some advice please. I am on NTL 3mb connection and using a router, within 5 minutes of connecting to the internet i lose connection and cannot view any webpages. Have tried without the router and connection seems tp be fine so went and replaced the router with a new one and am still getting the same faults. Any ideas please as this is driving me insane, thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Problems with connection

I had the same problem when using a wireless Linksys router. Turned out to a be a Windows issue, had to turn off repeate authentications or some thing like that. Sorry, can't remember the details; I'm a Unix not a Windows person! Have you check on the Microsoft web site, they have many good articles for network issues?

Re: Problems with connection

Moved to Computers & IT as thread discusses router configuration problems, not specifically the ntl broadband connection
