Could it be one of your pcs has a problem with what ethernet is in it? if so you can pick a pci ethernet card up for a fiver
We've had one of those for about a year and a half now, brilliant bit of kit. We run two PCs and a PS2 on it no problem, you don't need to pay for a second IP address from ntl either, so pays for itself over time. The price has come down a fair bit since we got ours. £31 on that site, we paid £45 from Amazon last year (was £70+ in the shops).

Great solution.
