Homeplug is it the solution?

Ok alot of people seem to have this trouble with two pcs router and connection dropping. so what do people think of homeplug networking as alternative i know very little about it so anyone that can explain the pros and cons please do.

well i am using it right now and its spot on can plug into any electric socket in the house and use my laptop. I also have wireless but its a small house and i dont have a problem with mine but i have been in houses that have difficulty picking up signal due to structure of the building this is where this product comes into its own.

Ive mentioned this in a couple of posts resently after a very successful install of said product. Easy to instal and set up no need to security ie wep or wap.Can recommend it

So how exactly do they work? Is it like running an arial over the earth pin? What stops it backing into someone elses house?

Is there any distance limit? Sounds quite good - wish i had known about it when I ran a network cable through the house

Wicked! A bit more expensive than wifi, but the amount i've spent on wireless routers throughout the years would make it well worth it.

yeah i ve went through a robotics and two belkins! lol can anyone who knows about homeplug networking recommend kit i would need for two pcs and xbox connected to ntl 2mb broadband! please! my belkin 54g is crap

dabs do a pair for 53 quid,you can get budget sets for as little as 18 quid but there a lot slower.The average unit costing 25-30 quid will be 14 mps not as fast as a t base 10-100 network or a 54 mbps wireless set up but a lot faster than the internet connection.It all depends how much file sharing will be done,There are more expensive units now available that run at 84mbps I believe

well seeing my trouble is more sharing internet wireless to my brothers pc downstairs so we can both game. am not worried at all about file sharing. can just ask do i use my existing belkin 54g router or do i need to buy a powerline router?? and whats difference.

can i add also whats the difference in makes of these plugs some people sell pairs for 40/50 others like;
