I wouldn't put it near where anybody would sleep IMO.
Ideally the best place to put a wi-fi unit is close to the centre of the house as possible, so putting it under a cot wouldn't be the best place.

Same power - no
microwave up to 900 W
typical hand held-cell phone has a RF power output of 0.600 Watts (600 mW) or almost 20X more output power!
wireless access point has a RF power output of 0.030 Watts

Yes but power is a function of energy- it will have the right energy but just not rotate as many bonds.
The notion that it's harmless because MWs target O-H bonds, and Wifi is the same frequency and is safer, is misguided.
yes it IS safer because it is lower power, but if you're exposed to the same amound it is just as harmful. Whether that's a short blast from a MW or long term from Wifi... kids are more fragile anyway, their cells are dividing more rapidly.
