Can a Voip telephone connection be made using a homeplug style network or does it have to be connected directly to the router? Im trying to extend my home network to include my garden office and its too far to reach with the cordless phone signal.

Re: Voip connection
If the VOIP phone has a separate supply then it should work over any IP capable link that's fast enough. It it's a POE (Power Over Ethernet) type then it needs a direct connection to a POE switch/hub/router or a POE tap for the ethernet line and a separate power unit.

Voip phone worked fine when connected to the router. Now i have set up an office in the garden using a devolo 200 homeplug and the phone wont work. Its an ordinary phone and i am using the adapter/splitter that came with the BT business hub. It worked fine on the router but not on the homeplug. Should i be doing something different?
Cheers
