It's called a 'security' key for a reason...

Re: Connecting my iphone to netgear n-150 wireless router

You'd need access to the router, then it'll probably be encrypted and would need a new one set.

Try calling your parents and ask them for either the key or permission to reset it. If the later then you'll need access to another computer in the house (or direct access to the reset button on the rotuer) and after resetting you'll need to reconfigure all the wireless devices that use the router..

Re: Connecting my iphone to netgear n-150 wireless router

Yes thanks for stating the obvious... but im living in the house where the router is and i have access to the router, with my router at home i have to connect my phone by using the wep key on the router, was curious to whether the key needed to connect my phone will be on the router? And if so what would it look like?

Re: Connecting my iphone to netgear n-150 wireless router

It'll probably look like ****************************************

but that does depend on the router Some show it as unencrypted and others have an option. You'll probably have to just change it..

Can I suggest that you look at moving yur parents onto WPA/WPA2 as wep is very unsecured, but obviously all devices will need to be wpa capable

Re: Connecting my iphone to netgear n-150 wireless router

Ok its a different phone but might be similar answer.

I had a problem connecting my dads HTC Desipre S to our WiFi, I tried adjusting the security and even reset both units, in the end I had to set the routher to MAC filtering which solved it.

The strange thing is that my phone (same model) connected with out the need for MAC filtering.
