NETGEAR WGT624v4 - Factory resetting after saving settings

I think the routers finally had it.
About half hour ago the router automatically reset itself to factory default as it always does.

Before, I was able to change the settings back to how I had them before, however this time, this is a major problem.

Whenever I set the settings to how they were before, the router automatically resets again back to factory default, no matter how many times I do it.

I've tried upgrading back to initial firmware that was on the device, but there is no change; factory resets after saving settings.

Anybody have any idea how to get it sorted temporarily before I purchase the SuperHub?

Plug strait into your modem,

sorry dude, sounds like your router is fubar.

I take it you don't have an alternative router you can use in the interim

Masque is correct.
And yup, my router is fubar; now have a solid orange light and no connections can be made via LAN/WAN.

Gonna have to use it directly through the modem itself.
Also to top it off, my computer connected via mobile AP to my phone and now I've incurred an additional 100MB on top of my mobile data limit. Will be looking forward to my Orange bill

Nope, will check the loft to see if there is anything.
I think I have one but it's ADSL. D'oh.

I wouldn't purchase the Superhub if I were you, there's far better routers out there for far less money. And depending what package you're on you may be entitled to a Superhub for minimum or no charge.

He states XL so possibly 20Mb and if the upgrade goes through it would be £30 and an upgrade to 30Mb with a free Superhub.

Shall I just upgrade to XXL for an extra £2.50 a month?
It says Wireless N Router so I'm presuming it will be a NETGEAR one?
At least then, if it breaks, Virgin may be able to repair/replace it unlike the situation I'm in now.

Thanks for the replies so far everyone

You will receive a Superhub instead.

They do the job and I will be getting one if the upgrade goes live.

There's also the £30 one-off charge to get XL 30mb + a Superhub option "coming soon".

Mind you if it's only £2.50 for you to get XXL then a year of 50mb is the same cost as a year of 30mb plus no shaping/capping in the downstream.

http://shop.virginmedia.com/existing..._UPGRADE_SOLUS

Although I don't think it was £2.50 extra as said earlier - I must have looked at the new customer prices and had it put in to my head.

May as well go for the 30Mb upgrade then
