Poor wifi Range

I cannot seem to get a very good wireless range with the DLink 615 router, my laptop is about 3 feet from router and signal strength is 4 out of 5 and sometimes 3 out of 5 on the graph, I take the laptop into the lounge and I lose the connection altogether so something does not seem right. I disconnected my Linksys and that broadcast a perfect signal all over house doors shut and opened so not sure what the problem is with the DLink or am I not configured right with something.

Re: Poor wifi Range

Perhaps try a different wireless channel. Could be something nearby that doesn't like the default one, or a neighbour in range is causing a conflict.

Re: Poor wifi Range

Laptop is only detecting mine, no others in area. Linksys was perfect, and this is first time I needed to use laptop since installing the DLink.

Re: Poor wifi Range

my m8 had a similar problem a few weeks back , but his problem was his wireless on his laptop .... might be worth connecting yr laptop via ethernet to see if u still have drop outs that way u can start emilinating faults
