Got wireless but cant connect via cable

hi could any one help i have a sweex wireless broadband router 11g (lc000070) and i can connect to the internet via wifi but cant via cable any answers im having trouble configuring the router to work wireless on my laptop (working) and via cable on my desktop computer (not working) i would also like to share my files how can i do that? can anyone help please id be most apriciated thanks joe

Try the laptop wired to the router, if thats works then I would be looking at the pc's security settings.

works perfect its my other machine that wont connect i dont know what im doing wrong on the other machine what would i have to configure on my other machine and i have tried disabling the firewall i use comodo on my laptop it detected the ip but on my other machine i didnt have no pop up to permit nothing what could be the problem broadband says working proply and connected at 100mbps im lost if i connect the modem only to the other machine it works i plug in the router again and dont work but on my laptop with wireless or cable both work ???
