Recommend a good router/NAS
As I noted in the moans thread, my Apple Time capsule has died.
So, I may be looking for a replacement.
I won't be buying another TC as they are expensive for what they are.
Ideally, I am looking for a router with built in NAS, n class wireless access and the ability to disable DHCP.
It would be nice if it also supported UPnP and itunes sharing..

I haven't actually tried any of the N class wireless routers, however I've been a long-term user of Linksys routers and have been very happy with them.
Personally I'd pick one of the Linksys models and then reflash the firmware with DD-WRT. DD-WRT turns a distinctly average, stock Linksys into a very good home router.
I've also heard good things about some of the Buffalo kit, if Linksys doesn't float your boat ... so to speak. 
DD-WRT also sell routers pre-installed with their firmware, which avoids any risk of unfortunate mishaps whilst installing new firmware.

vigor 2820n - includes wan failover and USB port so you can use an external hdd or flash drive as a NAS

saabmania2 ive used two now and so far so good.
One on a 20mb connection and getting around 19.4mb wireless
One on a 50mb and gets around 48mb wireless.

thanks i'll keep an eye out for these if mine ever goes wrong i have a d-link dir-855 at the moment but i would not spend that sort of money again if it goes wrong and these seem to be great value thanks for the heads up on them

Got a D-link DIR635 here I bought for 15 at bowlers, upgrade the firmware and the USB port becomes 1 of 3 things depending on how you set it.
1) 3g internet access via a dongle
2) USB - NAS
3) USB Shareport - I currently have an epson CX3200 MFP on it and all computers can use the printer OR scanner on it.

if it were me i would look at to seperate, decent devices.
I currently run a Synology 4 bay NAS with 4tb of storage. This hooks into my Airport Extreme on gigabit ethernet.
Its an awesome product. Its time machine compatible and supports itunes.
I would def look at a decent NAS server rather than a router that has usb HDD support.

I am considering a seperate NAS, but I am trying to save electricity.

how did u get on with urs?
I set another one up earlier for a mates 20mb.
He has a HP Laptop and gets 19.2mb and works fine even 4 rooms away in his kitchen.

Well, I've bought a Iomega Home Media NAS. Only 1TB, but it includes DNLA, iTunes and FTP servers. It also has a bittorrent client.
As for the router, I pulled my old WRT54G out of the cupboard, installed the latest DD-WRT on it, and that's doing a stirling job ATM.
The only downside is that the WRT only has 100Meg ethernet, so it's gonna take a little while to copy my media to the drive.

there are many router with the NAS server but in almost all of them it is not fully featured ,
you can check the linksys e3000 , belkin n+ , nfiniti router(best in my opinion)
