Uninstalling my wireless adapter?

So ive had this problem with my laptop where it recieves excellent signal strenth but i cant browse any websites...so i looked in the forums on how to fix it and i came across someone with an identical problem and they were finally able to fix it because she said she uninstalled her wireless adapter... i wanted to know how to uninstall it and am i uninstalling it on my laptop or my desktop or both and how to do it??? id much appreciate some help!

I would expect that this is an uninstall on the computer. You need to look in Device Manager (open your control panel > system > hardware in windows XP classic Control Panel style, no doubt different in other OS types). From there you should be able to see the network devices, select your wireless adaptor and remove. Reboot the computer and you should be prompted to reinstall

I would suggest you make sure you have the latest drivers for the reinstall - check your computer supplier's website.

It may not however be the network card at fault, but other settings of your internet browser. Check the tools > Options and connections to see all is set to automatic.
