Router Problem

This is one for all you smart people

My mate recently got Sitecom Router it's a wired one with XL BB. He's got both the PC and his ps3 linked up it.

It keeps randomly disconnecting on him but after rebooting the router and modem it will work for a few hours then die again it's a bit of a strange one

Re: Router Problem

Could be any number of things, Pete.
If it disconnects while he's downloading at near the maximum speed, it could indicate that the router can't actually cope with the full 20Mbit throughput.
Ask him to try accessing the router's config pages and see if he can ping the cable modem when it happens again?
Oh, and it's probably worth him checking to see if he has similar problems when his pc is connected directly to the modem, bypassing the router, too.

Sorry to be a bit vague!
