WiFi tool...

Few days ago I found AirGrab WiFi Radar(have you heard about this tool?), it's a program to display information about Apple Airport base stations and other WiFi (802.11b/g/n) wireless access points. Using this tool you can determine most popular WiFi channels and select optimal channel for your WiFi network.
I think it 'll be helphul to all... (btw, it's free....)
you can read more information on the site...

It might be useful to some. Good job you didn't post a link otherwise we'd accuse you of spamming, especially with your russian IP

Re: WiFi tool...

The IBM ThinkVantage tool on my laptop does this too. Shows signal strength, channel, encryption status etc.

It's fun to see that someone some miles away uses the same channel as I do and sometimes with a stronger signal, I wonder if they have a license for that?

Probably not, they probably have modified firmware that allows them to up the signal strength.

Re: WiFi tool...

Since the "strong" signal is from the cathedral (or says it is) I hope they aren't. That would be naughty and since they are over 1km away it's some boost. If it weren't locked I'd say they could offer town wide access.

Anyhow it's not there all the time, only when I sit outside but still ...
