Lan and Wireless lan

Is it ok to leave the wirless lan enabled when I am using the wired lan cable

No problem at all, as long as your wireless network is secured with a decent key.

I'm no expert but I believe that is what you need, IIRC there is a stronger key in the form of WPA2 but thatt is beyond me, someone else should be able to say more, I think you'll be fine with what you have

It's not a problem to have them both enabled, there is a priority order you can set up from the Network connections screen, Advanced, provider order.
