Traffic Priority

got the missus a laptop a while ago as i was gettin a bit piffed that i couldn't get on my pc. she never used it that much until i put my foot down a bit .

now when we're both online browsing or she's on msn and i'm doing some work it's not a problem, but if she's browsing or msn'ing/facebooking etc and i'm trying to play cod4 it plays havoc with my pings/packet loss sometimes.

is there a way i can prioritize my gaming traffic on my router? the router in question is a belkin F5D7230uk4 wireless g. the destructions are a bit vauge. i'm not sure if it can be done, but if anybody knows any different i'd love to know how.

or can anybody recommend me a wireless router that i can.

Re: Traffic Priority

Look for QoS in the router console. If its not there try an upgrade if there is one.

The Linksys WRT54G and the DD-WRT firmware definately has QoS as I use it myself. They cost around £40 and the firmware is a free download.
