I turned off the norton security and windows firewall - it still doesn't work. Interestingly, when i install my previous router the internet works.

Re: WRT54GS problem

If the router was pre-owned try doing a complete reset on it. Make sure it's on factory default settings, including passwords, else if they've changed some of the connectivity settings you'll have a load of faffing.

Re: WRT54GS problem

Try a master reset and install again. It took me atleast 3 goes to get mine sorted and it was a software firewall problem.

I still suspect Norton to be the problem or maybe even Windows firewall. Also try disabling your Antivirus too.

Re: WRT54GS problem

Hold in the Reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds. Unplug the power to the router and then plug it back in. You might have to reboot the computer after also.
