Want to go wireless....

But want to keep our old router (a Linksys wired jobby)

Is there a way of connecting a wireless router to our current router so that we have all round connectivity?

Yep connect a lan port on the old wired router to the WAN port of the wireless and make sure only one router has DHCP turned on.

Re: Want to go wireless....

Wireless routers could be connected, but you have to fiddle with the settings so that one inherits and passes through the DNS addressing and IP addresses from the other.

You'd probably be better off simply adding a Wireless Access Point.
