Cable Router Recomendations

Please reccomend a good reliable cable router i currently have a belkin F5D8231uk4 n1 router and im fed up with having to repair connections.

Im not really fussed about the speed but need good coverage and reliability.

I need it to run 2 desktops (wired) 1 laptop (wireless) and a NAS drive. Thanks in advance

Linksys WRT54G with Linksys Firmware. However, if you are feeling brave, you can install different firmwares with more features.

I personally use DD-WRT.

Re: Cable Router Recomendations

Depends what you want. I suppose the most useful thing is the ability to boost wireless power (although you do risk burning out the router if you go too high).

You can download dd-wrt for free from http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/index.php ,

They have multiple versions on there. You are probably better off going for v2.3SP2, and just pick the relevant model of router.

There is a Wiki manual at http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

BTW, be warned, if something goes wrong during the installation, you risk destroying the router.

Definitely recommend that router. I installed DD-WRT recently too and I have to say I'm very pleased with it. It's much better than the default Linksys firmware.
