Re: Belkin Router Keeps Going Off

Try channel 6 through the setup screens. Also, broadcast SSID and use 64bit WEP with MAC filtering rather than 128bit. Try different channels if all that doesn't work.

Re: Belkin Router Keeps Going Off

Does it just lose signal or completely turn off (no power)?

Re: Belkin Router Keeps Going Off

I had a similar problem with an old Belkin wired router on downloads, just cuoldn't cope with the constant hammering - changed it for a Netgear wired router and no further problems.

Re: Belkin Router Keeps Going Off

My belkin wireless router did something similar i.e. would shutdown completely to just a single amber light on one of the LEDs. Kept having to unplug/replug to get the connection back.

Apparently was a well known issue and Belkin issued a replacement.

Re: Belkin Router Keeps Going Off

The Linksys WRT54Gx range is known to have a problem with connections dropping if P2P is heavily used, because Netfilter by default keeps track of connections no longer being used for 5 days, which quickly overwhelms the router. This was the case with the original Linux-based firmwares, although not sure whether the VxWorks firmware has resolved this. 3rd-party firmwares don't have the issue at all.

Not sure if the Belkin routers suffer the same flaw, but might be worth looking into.
