Re: old pc to new pc

Can both PCs see each other on the network and why not just run the Files and Settings Transfer wizard built into XP?

Re: old pc to new pc

I would save the settings etc to hard drive and then run FAST on the new pc and tell it to take the files from where you saved them. (The "Other" option when saving) You don't need the Wizzard disk if both PCs run XP or you have an XP CD if I remember correctly.
Can you see PC 1 across the network from PC 2 and vice versa?

Create a folder to save your files and settings into. (make sure you have HD space needed)
and then choose the "Other" option as in the screen.
Did you check to see if both PCs can see each other in your "My Network Places" ? You need them both in the same workgroup
Check in control panel
system
computer name tab
Workgroup.

Both PCs should be in the same group
