Networking trouble

Below is a well drawn picture in Paint, about my network. I want to add another computer to it (Computer 2). How would i go about getting the internet on it? I've connected computer 3 and 2 together with a crossover cable but its not doing much... It just says they're connected and not giving me the internet.

Any Help, and ill love you :P

Re: Networking trouble

Why don't you just connect computer 2 to the router with a straight ethernet cable?

Re: Networking trouble

Have you actually set up ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) to share Computer 3's connection with Computer 2?

If you don't want to run a long cat5 cable downstairs from Computer 2 to the router, why not get a wireless card or dongle for the computer? (seeing as your router is wireless anyway, going by how Computer 3 connects)

Re: Networking trouble

That's the problem, I've tried a few wireless cards in Computer 2 but i can never get a signal with them, while for some reason Computer 3 can still get a connection. That's why I'm resorting to this.
