Set top box / wireless set up

Hi,

I want to set up my ntl set top box broadband to run through a wireless router. I have a 2wire modem router that I took from work (BT sent us 2 by mistake). Will I be able to use this device as a stand alone router? I can connect to the router from my laptop - However, when I connect the router to the set top box i cant connect to the internet. Can anyone help me with this? Or am I going to have to buy another wireless router (without an integrated modem).

Cheers.

The latter, I think. If I read you correctly, you have an ADSL modem/router which is not compatible with cable technology.

Sorry about that.

Re: Set top box / wireless set up

Thanks - Oh well it was worth a go. Can you recomend any wireless routers for use with my set top box? Ease of install is a priority!

Belkin routers are worth their weight in gold

Re: Set top box / wireless set up

I'll second that (mine's a Belkin). Linksys and Netgear are other possibles.

Re: Set top box / wireless set up

When I had ADSL I had a belkin wireless router - now I have a Linksys one

Both were ok. Although I have heard that some people have had problems with the linksys one.
