Rebooted many times and it still sometimes doesn't switch. I'm ex-cwc.
Try selecting TV Guide/Settings/TV Screen Settings
Choose 16:9 Widescreen (Even though it is already selected!) Keep changes
Hit the TV button change the channel up and down (or down and up if you prefer) and see if that works (it does for me)
