Email AGAIN
Yep, you guessed it, no email through Outlook Express again, it just hangs....webmail is also pooched.
But then again, maybe I'm just putting my username and password in incorrectly.....

I think it will be just a case of waiting then. I have a similar problem with my Demon email account, sometimes and i just have to wait untill the server sorts itself out.

Gee thanks, that makes me feel a whole lot better - shouldn't you be working for NTL with an approach like that??

Re: Email AGAIN
Don't mean to be here, but when i go into Outlook Express is there any way that i can get it to ask for a password for my email accounts? The reason is that my dad likes to go in and view my emails just to wind me up. So rather than letting him do this i have protected my XP account with a password. To be extra cautious how can i stop OE from remembering my password every time i type it in, and so it asks for it every time i go into OE?

Re: Email AGAIN
It's odd - I deleted all my mail accounts from OE and put them back in, now my mail is working fine, and that's the third time in 3 days that's happened

By removing the password from the settings for that account in OE
Each session you would then be prompted for the password when you first collected mail. You can then tell it to remember the password in which case you will need to then delete it at the end of the session, or alternately, you would have to give the password each time you want to check the mail. (bit of pain so I would go with the remember then delete option)
Dont forget you can also set the PC up to require a password after going to screensaver etc just in case.
