Somebody's hacked my email web server!

I thought it strange that I haven't received any emails for a few days, whilst my wife does on the same account. It turns out that somebody has got in to my web mail account and in the message rules, redirected my emails to a hotmail address.

I've now removed that rule, but I feel the need to change my password...pronto. Can't seem to find out how to do it for web mail.

Also, do I need to change my password in Outlook Express?

Thanks.

OK, found out how to chnage my password, it's right on NTL's homepage.

Do I have to change my "normal" NTL mailbox as well?

Thanks

I'd change all your email passwords, just to be sure. The password you set via the ntl homepages will also need to be entered into any OE settings.

Re: Somebody's hacked my email web server!

Thanks Rob,

just got in and found that I had to change Outlook Express password to the same as web mail anyway.

How does this hacking happen? Is this a security flaw that NTL need to check out?

Re: Somebody's hacked my email web server!

More likely that someone that knows you or you emailed has guessed your password otherwise more than one NTL email account would have been messed about with.

I'd change your password on each websites of which you are a member; eBay, Paypal etc as the hacker may have requested your password and gained access that way.
