Cannot access a 100% working website

There is a website http://netlab.e2k.ru which I cannot access for 1 week. It had DNS problem which was solved and everyone can access it except me. I can access it through anonymous websites but cannot access them directly. Ping by ip or netlab.e2k.ru works fine. I fail to log on from any browser though. I was told I have to contact NTL in order to solve the problem but frankly speaking I don't even know how to approach NTL with this sort of problem. I don't think that the staff at support can solve it.

Any suggestions?

P.S. Cleaning cookies and temps will not help since I am trying to log in from a brand new machine I have build a few days ago with the same result. Turning power off on the modem or router does not help either.

Thank you in advance.

Re: Cannot access a 100% working website

Indeed it is working, you could try changing proxy, as detailed in the articles section of this site - http://www.cableforum.co.uk/forum/article.php?c=16

Re: Cannot access a 100% working website

i can access it too, try changing your proxy server setting to:

bagu-cache-4.server.ntli.net

works through there:

if you dont know how to, click on the links on this page:

Re: Cannot access a 100% working website

Uhm. Thanks a lot.
I have never configured proxy, why should I do it now?
I mean my internet connection works just fine without any proxy. Why all of sudden should I worry about it?

I live in Bedford.

---------- Post added at 19:03 ---------- Previous post was at 18:41 ----------

I have tried to tell my firefox to use this proxy lutn-cache-5.server.ntli.net instead of the same with number 12 in the middle, and it works now. However, I think it is very odd.
Also I have left port 80, inspite of the fact that they said to change it, because I didn't want to open any other ports on my router. Anyway it works now so thanks a lot. Though I don't understand why it has happened. I am with NTL for 3 years, it has never happened before. I think proxy 12 just doesn't work properly. I would probably have to change my ip in order to be connected to another proxy automatically, then I would not have to force my browser to go to some particular proxy.

Thanks again!

Re: Cannot access a 100% working website

You wouldn't have had to open any ports on your router as the request would have been outgoing not incoming so don't worry about that.

Alos you aren't served by one fixed proxy, what happens when you request a webpage is that a particular proxy in your local cluster will deal with it, it's a form of load balancing, so therfore you could have two tabs open in firefox each displaying different websites and each of the webpages could have been served by different proxies.(this scenario is only valid if you haven't got a proxy specified).

Having to "force" a proxy is nothing new for lot's of us in order to access certain webpages, have you considered reporting the problem proxy?

Re: Cannot access a 100% working website

No, I have not reported a proxy problem.
I was not sure what was a problem until today, although I had some suspicions about proxy. The only thing that bothered me with proxy was that I didn't configure it, so something I didn't configured should not be broken....

How can I report it?

Thanks!

For a proxy to take effect, you really want to use Port 8080 I would have thought

How do I submit the report about this proxy? It still doesn't work.
Where should I send email?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Cannot access a 100% working website

try a software solution like hide ip plat, its simple to use and you can click on the icon to switch proxys, pc mesh is another software switcher. I tried the link you provided first with my ordinary connection then with hide ip and with hide ip it works.
