Sending email to AOL

HI all,

Has anyone had an issue trying to send email to AOL via the web mail service.

I get this error when I try to send an email to my father....

This Message was undeliverable due to the following reason:

Your message was not delivered because the destination computer refused
to accept it (the error message is reproduced below). This type of error
is usually due to a mis-configured account or mail delivery system on the
destination computer; however, it could be caused by your message since
some mail systems refuse messages with invalid header information, or if
they are too large.

Your message was rejected by mailin-03.mx.aol.com for the following reason:

: (ISP:B3) http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/554ispb3.html
TRANSACTION FAILED

The following recipients did not receive this message:

<xxxxxxx@aol.com>

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

this is the error message

The IP address on your ISP's network has generated a high volume of mail to AOL and has exceeded our rate limit. Possible causes include a compromised or virus-infected personal computer or a non-disclosed server relaying mail within the ISP's network.
which would seem to suggest they have blacklisted the NTL proxy server - you could try sending the message using 'normal' email, rather than webmail, as that will avoid port 80.

That wouldn't be the proxy IP? SMTP doesn't go through port 80, rather 119 iirc. and the "IP Address on your ISP's Network" could be referring to a spammer once using that IP OR it could be referring to the NTL SMTP server.

webmail goes via port 80, Zeph, the OP wasn't sending via smtp

Webmail only uses port 80 to talk to the mail server! It still gets transfered from NTL to AOL via smtp!!
Does anyone have an AOL account that we can test a mail from NTL to - I don't know any active AOL contacts.
