Re: Web page problem (proxy?)
It loads fine here, but I understand your pain, different proxies can be a real pain in the a..
Unfortunately NTL don't want to know about the proxies, I've been talking with some exec office staff recently about my Poplar proxy problems - easy to see and replicate - just try steampowered.com on Poplar at the moment for just one example, or the steady stream of posts in this forum alone about them not working properly - but they won't budge. They don't seem to care that the bad actions of some NTL members (why Valve have blacklisted the Proxies I imagine) affect thousands of people - very bad service indeed.
I would much rather they forget the 10mb speed increases(us on Poplar won't see them after 7pm anyhow) and spend the money on fixing/removing the proxies.
My only advice is to move ISP if you can/are willing - I would, but at this time in my life it would be more hassle than its worth - sadly that seems to be what they are banking on.
Perhaps we should all start witholding a percentage of our monthly fee, for those sites that don't work on NTL but do elsewhere - maybe that would make them notice

Re: Web page problem (proxy?)
Well they are been cheap on the external traffic side of things but dont want to admit it. How many customers do ntl have 1.4million? and I heard ntl have around 8 gig of transit available. (this may be wrong and if someone "knows" I am wrong feel free to correct me with the actual amount of transit), this is from someone who works @ ntl. Now I know of some small isp's that have around 5 gig of transit and they certianly dont have 1.4million customers or anywhere near that amount, 8 gig is not a big number, if you have say 8000 1mbit users pushing for traffic at the same time that alone requires 8 gig of transit, so if you work out 20:1 that would be suitable transit for say 160000 1mbit users and even at 50:1 its 400000 still well below a million.

Re: Web page problem (proxy?)
I correct myself, I spoke to him again, and I been told the available transit for usa is around 22 gig, 6 gig of it which is cogent, he says there is a problem with the way traffic is been routed tho, and that any isp that utilises cogent regardless if they also have a better route ntl is deciding cogent is the best route every time, causing the other 2 routes to be very under utilised and cogent to be congested.

Phoned up NTL . After about 20 minutes of being treated like a Moron - Oh there is some maintenance on the cable stream your modem is on. I said that it has been like it for 2 days (which it has) same reply she said - maintenance on channel ? - fop off me thinks
