Re: Webmail Changes - Not Impressed
The only way I can describe the abysmal web mail display now is 'disgusting'. It is garish, loud, a strain on the eyes and makes you want to puke when you log in.

Re: Webmail Changes - Not Impressed
I never see any changes because I have set my VM email to be redirected to another webmail inbox.

Re: Webmail Changes - Not Impressed
Wish we had something here as a strain on the eyes - more strain on confusion as overlapping on our screen and misdirections all over !. Try inbox (if visible) and come up with all mail or inbox and addresses (half a screen too).
Layout is one thing - correct programming another. And the VM answer is - just a new layout. Complete idiots - it does not work. So come on Google and VM and get your act together.

Re: Webmail Changes - Not Impressed
What browser are you using?
I looked last night in IE9 and there were no errors. Wasted space, yes, but no actual errors.

Re: Webmail Changes - Not Impressed
Thanks mark - I'm Internet Explorer 9 (and latest Windows fairly recently - forget the number) and having no problems anywhere else except the Inbox page Virgin/Google apparently the latest element went in yesterday. (after a long changeover which eventually came right and ran very smoothly with no input on my part).

Does that mean it's working fine now?

Re: Webmail Changes - Not Impressed
Unfortunately not - the Inbox page truncated etc (but allowed your email in). No it was the earlier formatting changes that eventually were resolved (by Virgin I must assume.
I'm no techie but advised when updates/changes occur the programmes do not always integrate properly and here Virgin Mail is on top of Google so to speak. We feel it's up to Virgin to resolve this error.

Re: Webmail Changes - Not Impressed
Can you post a suitably anonymous screen shot showing your problem? There was no error at all for them to fix when I looked last night.

Re: Webmail Changes - Not Impressed
We are struggling somewhat - the image is scanned to my computer but we cannot find an option for add attachment here. Can we send by your email (PM here does not give the option either it seems unless we are blind !. Incidently the content of our email inbox page is in the one third at the base of the screen. The short left hand menu is truncated and will not show addresses at all.

email inbox002.pdf
If this comes out well enough Ancestry sits at the base of the screen - the short truncated menu on the left scrolls briefly and does not include address book and no provision to find them. (a few only appear in chat option but not provision to manage my entries. In fact thee brief selective options are all over the place - may/may not respond. Just found contacts - in Mail option above inbox lhs. Many disgruntled people over on the Virgin Media Help and Support Forum I see on this reformatting of Webmail - nothing left to work with. I still believe this is an interface poblem between Google and Virgin.

Re: Webmail Changes - Not Impressed
A little more info Mark - there are so many people complaining now about the uselessness of this Google zoned in patch that they have been taken up the chain of command now. My neighbour has a small notebook so reading anything is impossible (this viewing slit at the bottom of the page) - he's added to the outcry.

Re: Webmail Changes - Not Impressed
Wow! You actually printed out and then scanned in to get a screenshot. That option would never have occurred to me. Quick tip: press the Print Screen key on your keyboard (it might just say Prt Scr) next time, then paste into Paint.
I think it's working as intended. Not saying it's good, I've never liked gmail layout, but it is as intended.
I've just checked again, in IE8 this time, and there is no coding problem. Just the design problem of gmail layout changes and Virgin's massive advert and banner at the top of the screen.

Re: Webmail Changes - Not Impressed
Beginners luck here - but many thanks for your tip in future. The mail box is becoming a little clearer and behaving as it should albeit only occupying the bottom of the page. The advertising occupying the top two thirds seems to have retreated a little and I'm guessing because of the outcry (they have admitted to masses of complaints) they are reworking slowly. Many thanks for all your thoughts/advice Mark.

Agree, I've been using the 'Basic' interface for ages. I'm not worried about missing some functions, but at least you can read your email
