Adding new mailbox query

Hi guys n gals

As per title i want to create a new mailbox to add to my existing two @ntlworld.com addresses. I believe that any mailbox created now will be a @virginmedia.com address. My questions are :

will my current mailboxes remain the same (i don't want them to become @virginmedia.com addresses).

will i be able to configure my e-mail client (thunderbird) with two different pop/smtp settings to accomodate both services or will i have to setup a different e-mail client or use webmail.

any advice much appreciated.

The current email addresses will be untouched.

When you go through the New Account setup in Thunderbird it will ask for the pop/smtp settings and those settings are specific to each account. So, it'll be fine.

I would suggest, however, that you consider a free 3rd party email solution like gmail or Hotmail. Both will be accessible through pop3 in Thunderbird so you won't notice any real difference. The main advantage is that if you switch ISP away from Virgin at any stage your email address won't have to change.
