Re: Scam email from Virgin?

Oh yeah, just look at the link. A site called http://www.beklms.com/ I think the text on the main page is a big clue to the origin of this.

Re: Scam email from Virgin?

It's not listed on the Internet Security site here http://netreport.virginmedia.com/netreport/ so needs reporting

Just because you got the email it doesn't meant to say you should post the phishing link for everyone...

Embedded link changed in the first post so no-one can click on it

Re: Scam email from Virgin?

It goes to what looks like a genuine site but the address is incorrect plus one of the addresses it lists is btinternet.com, it is quite clever as the othe links take you to genuine Virginmedia pages so do not click.

Report it here http://netreport.virginmedia.com/netreport/

Why would you honestly try to access the scam site using your own machine a fruitless and pointless exercise.

Re: Scam email from Virgin?

I used my own machine to look at it.. There was nothing dangerous apart from a phishing site and I only made the URL unclickable but still accessible by those who have an interest in security matters..

Re: Scam email from Virgin?

I saw it in work so clicked the link and it was not blocked by Virgin Media's own firewall so it was deemed as safe by it so the is no real danger in the link.

Re: Scam email from Virgin?

there isa difference a between danger9ius link and phising link

a dangerous link will be to virus or spyware

a phising link is to thata site copying anoteher to get yoru details but you have to press the submit button for them to get it, if you want to have fun just put in some phoney details like iamaidiot mypasswordiseasy as the idiot will most liekly try them all
