Internet Connection !

Guys, I have just formated my sons pc and reinstalled windows xp, but I cant get the internet working through it ( hard wired) with lan cable, do I just wait till vm see's it or do I use my old CD !

Have you rebooted the modem as well? As long as the network card is set to auto it should fine the correct details.

The CD won't do a lot and I think was mainly for the USB side of the old modems..

What IP do you get? try IPCONFIG /ALL at the command prompt
