Sky News Website Not Available On PC

Since Saturday, when I click to go to the Sky News website on my favourites, I get sent to the mobile version.

Nothing I've tried will get me to the normal site and it looks like I'm not the only one:

Any ideas?

Re: Sky News Website Not Available On PC

Working normally on my Windows 7 Ultimate in every browser on my machine so it is unlikely to be a Virgin Media issue.

I'm using Windows XP and IE8, though I've tried Firefox and it's the same on there.

I would put it down to something wrong with my PC, if I hadn't found that message from someone else with the same problem.

Just to add my favourites link is:

http://news.sky.com/skynews/

but when I click on it it appears for a second but then changes to:

http://m.sky.com/skynews/

I use this link http://news.sky.com/home

Delete the Skynews favourites link and clear the cache especially cookies.

Nope, did all that and clicking on your link still takes me to the mobile version.

I have no idea how this can happen---I've never even seen the mobile site before.

I got the wife's netbook out and was able to get to sky news no problem so whatever it is seems to be to do with my PC---and of course at least one other person that I posted the link to.

As I only go to Sky News to get their link for the daily front pages of newspapers I'm going to put it down as 'one of those things' and live without the Sky News website.

Afraid not. I saw and tried that but it just brings up the mobile site again---for me anyway, though I agree it probably is supposed to bring up the normal PC site.

Thanks anyway.

There is an update on the link I posted yesterday and this suggests there is some sort of problem that Sky are aware of and are trying to sort out.

Still cannot understand why it is only effecting a ,probably, small number of people:
