Lots of bounced email notifications

I checked my blueyonder email today (I usually have it forwarded to my Gmail account) and I was surprised to see hundreds upon hundreds of emails in the spam folder that are, apparently, bounced emails.

They take the form as shown below, though the name of the intended recipient is different for each one. Even as I type this, dozens more have appeared! It looks like my email has been used to spam, though I'm not sure how.

Should I just ignore them, or is there a department somewhere I can escalate this to (please don't say the offshore call centre... life is too short to explain this).

Have you scanned your computer lately, including full malware scan? ( as it looks as if your BY email address is being used to send spam).

I don't use local email at all Hugh, and instead use the web based access, so I doubt this spam originated from any of my PCs (but I do have current A/V that is scheduled to scan regularly).

Normally I just use GMail, and have everything forwarded to it, but just happened to notice this today when I was doing some spring-cleaning on my Blueyonder account.

I've emailed abuse@yandex.ru to see if they can do anything. I ditched my initial thought of forwarding it all back to the spammer's email address as they obviously have the tools to swamp my inbox!

You've been "joe jobbed". Some spammer has used your address on a run of his nasty emails. They pick an addy at random usually and it will die off in a couple of days. In the meantime there's nothing you can do but keep deleting.

What have you reported to them? You are getting the bounces from accounts that don't exist. If you report those addresses, they are likely to tell you the account doesn't exist.

If you look at the email above, the body contains the email address of the spammer, as well as their ICQ number.

It looks like they are/were trying to flog some kind of design service.
