Email difficulty

Notwithstanding Caroline's issue earlier - we ARE having difficulties with email here in the NE. I use a 1&1 account which is working fine, but my wife is not receiving email at all (I've sent her lots of tests) nor can she send - they sit in her outbox and she gets the 'password needed' box.

She hasn't changed anything (wouldn't know how!) and the router is fine!

The Virginmedia status page says nothing about email access - just that broadband is fine.

Re: Email difficulty

Assuming this has worked before we would need your account details to look for the issue.. as this is not a VM forum, we can't take them.. I would suggest giving them a call to pass DPA and get it raised to the right team.

Re: Email difficulty

Thanks for the quick response.

She has called 151 twice and each time has been bounced out...

I've tried to check access for her through webmail, but it does say that the site is down and being attended to... so I guess there is a problem. And it's being attended to..

There's no issues at the moment, it's really annoying sometimes on here, I want to help, I really do, but I can't take your details off you.

Try posting on Facebook or Twitter, see if they can help ?

Re: Email difficulty

Thanks for the suggestion ... what the twitter tag?

---------- Post added at 18:44 ---------- Previous post was at 18:41 ----------

And..

I've just tried accessing my own little used (weekly) virgin.net account through webmail - never ever had a problem before, and it comes up with a Google Apps server error?

For the virgin.net account you will need to use 0845 454 2222 and they will help resolve that issue.

To sort out the other email issue you will need to speak to a agent on either 151 from a Virginmedia phoneline or 0845 454 1111 from any other line as the is no other way to get it sorted out.

Re: Email difficulty

Thanks for all your help.

We'll leave it and call a bit later. They don't want to answer 151!

As you've called up a few times I think Twitter is a good choice.

If you like, PM me a link to your Tweet and I'll speak to them tomorrow.. see if we can get your email sorted ASAP.

Most people ring the wrong number for Offnet hence my post.

No, that's fair enough.

I've got his Tweet now so I can help it along tomorrow.

If someone has tried and failed on the normal routes then I think its only fair we help if we can .. whilst protecting DPA and the rules.

Re: Email difficulty

Thanks again for all your help and encouragement!

All's well this am - so whatever was wrong isn't any more. Can't explain, but someone, somewhere is clearly very clever...

Re: Email difficulty

Just want to say again how useful this site, and the twitter contact is.

All continues well this evening. Some form of glitch somewhere that has been sorted by some kind of magic. I don't believe that any kind of problem ever solves itself!

So thanks for being here - much appreciated.
