Internet Security Warning
After several months of problem free use with my old fashioned "outlook express windows XP system" since my last major problem with pop3 access, I have a new issue.
This morning when opening outlook exprees a pop up window announced the following:
"The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified. The certificate's CN does not match the passed value. Do you want to continue using this server"
By pressing the yes button I continues to access my messages as normal.
Would appreciate an explanation from the experts out there.....sorry if this has duplicated a previos thread.
Cheers

Re: Internet Security Warning
Same here and I am using Outlook 2007 and Windows 7. Looks like VM have forgotten to renew the certificate or something. I had it it on pop.ntlworld.com. I dont use VM for sending mail so doesnt bother me too much.
On VM's help pages it says you have to change from pop3 to pop. I have just done that and it works properly again.

Re: Internet Security Warning
Normally a issue with server name and/or SSL setting. What do you have for the incoming and outgoing servers, their port numbers, and SSL option?

Re: Internet Security Warning
We're all getting the message this morning, it's got nothing to do with any settings we have locally. I've got it with Outlook 2007, my Dad got it with MS Live Mail. I think the message was referring to the pop server.
I think Virgin Media either haven't renewed the certificate, or haven't installed the new certificate, or it hasn't installed properly.

Re: Internet Security Warning
Or as pointed out in another recent thread on this forum (inthe last 2 weeks) just simply check the time/date on the laptop It can cure 90% of certicate errors though maybe not in this case it is something to remember

FWIW - I don't have a problem sending or receiving NTL mail - just this certificate box popping up every few mins.
