Re: Broadband Throttling

Correct, those are the amounts you would need to download before triggering the management (excluding P2P and Newsgroup management)

I haven't bothered upgrading to 30MB even though it is free bar the £30 for the modem but now see there is a huge jump in allowance between 20 + 30 mb.

What do you mean exluding P2P and Newsgroup management? I didn't see any differentiation other than upload + download amounts.

Re: Broadband Throttling

The tables detail the main protocol agnostic traffic management i.e. the total amount up/downloaded.

In parallel Virgin also manage file sharing as per the paragraph further up the page:

We moderate the total volume of file sharing traffic on our network between 5pm and midnight on weekdays and midday and midnight on weekends. This policy, which applies to all broadband packages, is restricted to Peer to Peer ("P2P") applications and Newsgroups (which are commonly used to distribute large amounts of data)

Re: Broadband Throttling

right - my table was on another page as my upload has changed. It seems to read differently to what you said though (or it is my interpretation) I really must go to bed and read it again in the morning - rather tired.

night.
