If you wanted to add any new email addresses they would be @virginmedia.com addresses but any existing @ntlworld.com/@blueyonder.co.uk/@virgin.net addresses will also continue to work along side them.
If you delete an existing @ntlworld.com/@blueyonder.co.uk/@virgin.net address it will be gone forever with no possibility of retrieving it but you cannot delete your Primary email account even if you do not use or like it.
