Logging in to My Virgin media

I'm having problems logging into 'My Virgin Media' (or indeed any Virgin service, including webmail, that requires the username/password be filled out).

I receive the message We are currently experiencing difficulties with our systems. Please try again later.

This has been going on for at least a month. I haven't worried too much about it as I have my Virgin email forwarded to my Gmail account, which works.

I'm not entirely sure, but the error seems to have coincided with my switch to a much stronger password (using keepass), though I use the same password to pick up my Virgin email from my GMail account. Coincidence?

I did do a password reset, but even using the new password gives me the above error message.

Any ideas? Is 'My Virgin Media' down?

No it is not down but to fix it you will need to call technical support.

Sounds like one of the LDAPs is out of sync, if you post on the VM forums they will raise it ..

Re: Logging in to My Virgin media

Thanks for the replies. I'll take your advice and post in the forums and/or place a call.

As an aside, if I put the wrong password in I get the 'wrong password' error, but if I put the right one in I get the error mentioned above. That and the fact that the password works when gmail does it's import is all rather odd!

Re: Logging in to My Virgin media

There are several places your password and details need to match. If I were allowed to I would fix this for you in a few seconds... but I dont represent VM ..

To reset a password you will need to call in due to Data Protection issues as that is all the community forum can advise you.

Thats the point though, its not a wrong password .. its an issue ..

An LDAP is a access protocol we use a lot now and plan to increase, as it is fast and allows multiple read write connections at once ..

I would raise it to 2nd line on a call once we ascertained it was a fault and they would sort out the LDAP, of a weekend you are probably best to use the community forum for such an issue but in the week call support as you should get it raised quicker.

2nd Line have no control over LDAPs, they would raise to IT.

They are the only team that can raise issues to IT so we have to go through them.

I guess it makes sense so they can keep track of the fault, but you can raise then through the internal home page.

It is recommended that we only raise IT issues through 2nd line so we just follow that route.

Problem is you don't get to see the fix .. so you don't learn what's caused the issue in the first place.
