Google Sync with ntlworld email address?

My wife has just got one of the cheap Blackberrys and we're trying to set up all the syncing.

After deciding that WLM2010 is a pile of junk, I think we've got the BB syncing email with Outlook 2010 using her ntlworld.com email address.

I'm now looking at getting calendar and contact syncing. If we were using a regular gmail account I understand that we could use Google Sync to do this, but does that work with an ntlworld.com email address, which is really gmail under Virgin branding.

I know it will sync if we install the BB software onto the PC, but am trying to avoid having to connect the two physically as in practice it'll never get done. Over the air syncing the way to go.

Thanks
