Emails still in webmail Bin after being downloaded

Hello this is my first post, I'm not sure if it's already been posted, so be gentle with me please.

Even though "Delete Virgin Media Mail's copy" is selected in Settings, I didn't realise delete doesn't actually mean they are totally deleted! They still remain in the webmail Bin once you've downloaded them to your computer. To my surprise I found hundreds of them still sitting in the Bin, presumably awaiting further instruction - am I the only one that didn't realise this happens?

Prior to downloading them all first, can I set up a re-route of the contents of my various Virgin webmail account Bins into one 'master' account so I can do a mass manual delete from one account? (Obviously I don't want them re-routed before I get chance to download them). It's very time consuming and infuriating why have Virgin started doing this?

Re: Emails still in webmail Bin after being downloaded

As Virgin Media Mail is now on the backbone of Google that is the way it works. Anything in the Spam or Bin is kept for 30 days, unless you manually remove it yourself.

Thanks looselipsuk - just as a I thought. Just looking to try and alleviate the nuisance factor as best I can.

Re: Emails still in webmail Bin after being downloaded

Unless you are sending and receiving a ton of large mail then the 30 day and remove function will work well.
Does have the advantage that you can re-read a message you have deleted from your Inbox as long as you do not mind going online to view it.
