Webspace - First Page Up ... Next Step?
Well I'm thrilled I've got some text up on the index page.
But I'm wondering how to get other pages up. I've searched Google ... here and can't see any mention of how to get other pages up.
I'm on Apple Mac using Cyberduck on Virgin Media Webspace
The files that were on my ntl webspace have been uploaded to my new Virgin Media webspace but nothing is showing ..... I keep looking and looking .... deleting the files ... re-uploading ....
I'm working in the dark not knowing a sausage about web pages .... and think its brilliant I've got one page up!!

Re: Webspace - First Page Up ... Next Step ??
I don't know cyberduck or indeed any apple mac stuff. However if you've successfully uploaded you index page to the webspace then it should just be a case of uploading everything else in the same way. I don't know if there is any delay, or cache, in the webspace provided by virgin media that could cause a delay in your uploads being available.
Make sure that you are being very careful with the format of your web page names. Upper and lower case can confuse things. Keep it all lower case and standard characters avoiding blanks or spaces. The VM webspace is basic and will not support all internet languages. Keep to the style you used for your index, probably .htm.

Re: Webspace - First Page Up ... Next Step ??
On your index page, do you have a link to the other pages?
For example your index page might be something like: www.mywebspace.virginmedia.com/index.html
Page2 might be: www.mywebspace.virginmedia.com/page2.html
So on the index page, you need to put a link to page 2 so your visitors can reach it.
Try the tutorials listed on www.w3schools.com, they are a wealth of info on HTML and creating webpages

Also... iWeb on the mac (should be installed as part of the OS) can take your virgin webspace details and create and upload the site for you

Re: Webspace - First Page Up ... Next Step?
First page is normally Index.html or default.html or even Index.php (depends on how the webserver has been set up..)
After that you just call your pages whatever you want to call them and either give out direct links to them or have links in your first page.
For example if you have a page called page2.html then anyone typing in http://www.whateveryourwebspaceiscalled.com/page2.html will find it or you can put in a hyperlink from index.html so people can click on there to bring up page 2

Re: Webspace - First Page Up ... Next Step?
Thanks very much everyone.
That made complete sense to me.
I've got to link the pages together .... go to page 2 ... home etc!!
Great stuff.
I've got a front page and second page. I won't tell you how long its taken but I've got there!!
I hadn't got iWeb on my apps ... sadly!!!

Judging by the skill level of the OP, I don't think they'll be interested in css etc. quite yet. No insult intended.

My son took pity on me and uploaded my stuff for me in the end. I had done all the hard work ... it just needed a few tweaks!!!
