I/E 8 and virginmedia conflict

When using internet expolorer 8 and virginmedia, i/e8 will not remember my username and password at forums (even tho ticked remember me)and all the usual settings made in internet tools.

However Firefox is remembering and I do not have to book into forums each visit.

So have internet and virgin got a problem or conflict?

Clearing out your cookies usually fixes that problem.

Perhaps FF makes it's own arrangements for saving passwords??

Only other thing I can think of is to check you have cookies allowed in IE.

You probably haven't.

This is not an unusual issue with IE going back before V8 and one of the reasons I started using Firefox. It used to drive me mad when forums didn't remember me despite having all the right boxes ticked.

IE8 is a load of carp IMO. For a long time I was happy to use Slimbrowser and then, in a moment of total stupidity, I upgraded my IE7 to IE8 and it totally screwed the appearance of Slimbrowser's GUI. I went back to IE7 by uninstalling IE8 but the problem with Slimbrowser remained.

I dumped IE and Slimbrowser and started to use FF. I have been happy with FF until the present version of 3.6.10 which despite all my efforts to sort it out is, on times, very slow to connect, often timing out or giving a Server Error.

I think I'm going to try something else. It seems FF has gone the way of Netscape and become slow and bloated.
