BroadBand Speed Test !

Please can you help with this one !.

In our house we have 2pc's my sons is in his bedroom upstairs mine is right next to the modem & router, now when my son does a test he always gets about 9 megs, when I do a test I only get just about 2 megs !

When we test our pc's we have no programs running.

btw. both pc's are hard wired to the router.

Couple of possibilities.

Specs of PCs are different, interface on one is faulty or on router, connecting cable is faulty.

Hi arcimedes, got it sorted.... it was Sygate Firewall that was slowing my pc down, I now get a speed of 9 megs

Just thought you'd like to know just in case anyone else has the same problem.
