Weird Thunderbird problem

Hi all,

For the last couple of days I've been getting this error pop-up box in Thunderbird when it polls my main NTL account (I have 3 configured in Thunderbird).

I have been into webmail of all three accounts and deleted everything there but the error box remains. None of the messages there were new, I had received them all previously in the client.
After I OK out of the box, the account appears to poll correctly and finish it's task. The next poll throws up the error again.
Any clues?

TIA

:edit: sorry - HERE shows it's polling a VM box.

Re: Weird Thunderbird problem

Seems other people using VM's mail servers are also having problems with Thunderbird:

Re: Weird Thunderbird problem

Worth mentioning I'm deliberately using an older version of Tbird - 2.0.0.21 - and not having problems with something that a newer version may have.

Re: Weird Thunderbird problem

Yay, they broke email again. I can just about get my mails on my laptop, but it is broken on my iPhone when it worked fine before. I am getting really fed up with this ongoing error.

Re: Weird Thunderbird problem

Version 2.0.0.24 here. Problem is very intermittent. The mail still seems to eventually get through. Not as bad as the first time, just annoying.

Re: Weird Thunderbird problem

The mail does get through after cancelling out the error box yes, but annoying to have to click a box every x minutes to get shut of it so the other boxes can poll! I feel like Desmond in "Lost".
I have my work email address (.co.uk domain) set up in Tbird also and until this box is cancelled out, Tbird doesn't poll the other boxes.
Very frustrating - I will need to switch off the NTL addresses until this is fixed as I'm missing my work email. I rely on the 'ping' noise when away from the desk.

Edit: 11:37 - problems appears to be resolved. Fingers crossed.
