I never said I did - but dont expect everyone to thing its a great thing.

The increased space is irrelevant to me, as is the different spam filter ("better" is just an opinion) - but it does appear that it restricts certain attachment types, a possible downside to me.

As in a previous thread you can rename those files but overall it is a better platform than the old one, I am a blueyonder account holder and find it to be so much better.

Re: @ntlworld.com e-mail migration

Got my migration email today, cool..

And Masque, the ntlworld.com spam filter has been superb, powered by Cloudmark, a very respected company in email filtering technology.

In my opinion Google has a lot to live up to, I hope its as good as many claim.

Haha, that said though, it can't be bad as the human spam filtering we get on this site.

That was an odd email address to use that looked so suspicious and even now I have seen nothing official about but I believe what Dan says about it being legit, I would still have deleted it.

Lol, not before he said it was a fake too, and had to have his post retracted, but that's for another thread.

Glad the migration is starting.

Gee, if I'd wanted a bigger webmail with the features of a googlemail account including the chat feature, maybe I'd have opened a googlemail account.

Preferred browser? IE? Check the calendar, it's 2010 It shouldn't be preferring any browser, it should be compliant with all browsers and all standards! (OT: how come googlemail doesn't prefer Chrome?)

My natural reaction to being told what to do is to whinge. And I whinge even more if I'm told to shut up 'cos it's better and I'll love it - how do they know

Re: @ntlworld.com e-mail migration

use Incredimail, which as far as I am concerned the best e mail on the net.
I assume I will still be using this after this Virgin change -if not then Virgin may lose a customer as I am not being dictated to by them - There are other options for TV, Phone and internet out there.

It's e-mail provided free with your ISP, nobody forces you to use it

I take you are just being pedantic and trying to prove some unknown point that only you are aware of in your own mind.

If you do not want to use a Virginmedia account then do not as no one is twisting your arm.

As for the browser did you fail to read my comment that it will work in any browser but IE is the preferred as that is the only browser that we support in Windows as Safari is only supported on Apple Mac's.

As for Googlemail and Chrome I could not care less as both of them are unsupported.

Try reading the posts properly you can use any email client I use Thunderbird but have previously used Evolution and both work perfectly as virtually any other POP3 mail clients will once you put in the correct settings.

Absolutely, if someone wants to cancel TV, Phone & Internet because they don't think a third party email interface will work, then let them pay for the installation of the 'other options' while we laugh ..

I'll continue to use gmail & gmx in the meantime

It was not me who mentioned the present filter I think it was Paul M above, as I only mentioned the new one that comes with the new Googlemail platform which is excellent.
