No, "we" don't, you haven't migrated my account yet. So to repeat Paul M's original question: Better / superior in what way exactly ?
|
He was I think talking about the filters.
The new webmail is bigger and has the same features as a standard googlemail account including the chat feature.

Until your account has been migrated the is no need to make any changes in your email client.

My ntl catches all the spam - I very rarely get one.

That is immaterial as it will be migrated soon regardless of how good you think the NTL filters are as you have no choice in the matter.
The new webmail will work in any browser such as IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari without any issues but the preferred browser is IE.

Re: @ntlworld.com e-mail migration
Has anyone received an email from Virgin Media about this new email client?
I have read the spots off it and am completely confused, for a start the autosoftware only works on IE so if you use another browser you would have to make EI the default while using the software,or do it manually. It also appears to make Virgin your Home Page, so you would have to use internet options to make your own home page be default again. It is not clear if you susequently go back to your preferred browser if the email will work. I have not looked at the manual or auto links yet, but thought before doing anything would ask forum members for advise, thanks in advance.
Ron.

Re: @ntlworld.com e-mail migration
I used the auto button first on the laptop then on the desktop I un-checked Virgin Home Page and the toolbar, and it all seems to work with no problems so far.

I wasn't whinging Haggis 1001, But I did think the email could have been a little clearer, as it happens there doesn't seem to be a problem even with the web mail facility, which I don't need, but is there if I want it.

This is the link for the settings in Thunderbird once I have changed them they do work
http://help.virginmedia.com/system/s...TICLE_ID=37927
But I can't get the recent setting to work so I can use more than one computer withthunderbird on although the thunderbird is working on both computers so until they don't I won't be to bothered.

How is the cut-over of accounts being organised
e.g. Oldest accounts first? Please say "yes"
